This year’s Canadian National Trial will be held on Saturday & Sunday, Oct 2nd & 3rd, 2021 in Arden, Ontario.

Hopefully you have already marked this date in your calendar. If you have decided not to ride, or perhaps you are only riding one day, then please consider volunteering to help at the event. Many riders in Ontario have already enjoyed 8 events this year without being called on to help, so now is the time to step-up and lend a hand.

You don’t need to be a current rider, perhaps you have enjoyed trials events in the past, and would like to give back to the sport. Well we can certainly use your help, as well as family and friends.

NOTICE to all competitors who are planning on participating in our upcoming two day fall trial on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula (October 16-17).

Please be aware that as far as we know, all campgrounds in our area will most likely be closed after Thanksgiving. We may possibly be able to accommodate a couple of small rigs in our expanded driveway, depending on size, but we would prefer to leave it available for participant parking on the days of the event so as to avoid road parking. Bryan Marshall has been able to accommodate a few campers in the past and he has indicated that he may be able to do so again this time but also feels it might be better served as participant parking for the event.

Having said all that, there is a lovely campground at Cape Croker, a short distance from the trials site. We have spoken to the administrator who has said that if there is enough interest, they would be willing to extend their season beyond Thanksgiving. We encourage you to pursue this option as they would need to know as soon as possible. Talk amongst yourselves and see if you can come up with a plan. You can find contact information and campsite information on their website: capecrokerpark.com.

If you are looking for motel accommodations, you can try:

  • Lion’s Head Beach Motel
  • Spirit Rock Motel
  • Shenstone Motel
  • Waterview on the Bay Motel
  • Mile End Motel
  • Mum’s Motel
There are others that you can Google search, but because some of our riders paid out a hefty amount of cash in Wiarton in July, it might be a good idea to try these ones listed first. And there is also a number of Bed and Breakfasts in the area. Hope this helps!

And, if we don’t see you before our trial, we have belated prize money to hand out to the top three riders in each class.

Cheers from,
Elaine and Clive

During COVID-19 we are organizing Trials under the following conditions:

  • Maintain social distancing at all times at least a bike length apart. Before, during, and after the event.
  • Only pre-registered riders will be allowed access to the event site, beginning on the morning of the trial.
  • The pre-start riders meeting will require all riders to maintain social distancing.
  • Masks will be required at any time that the 2m distance is challenging.
  • The trial will be scored using the partner checking system, unless checkers are available.
  • As is typical of Observed Trials events there can only be one rider in a section at a time.

Before pre-entering you must be able to answer NO to every question in this COVID-19 screening questionnaire.

  1. Are you feeling unwell, showing any symptoms, including coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain, or fever?
  2. If you have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days, did you test positive on your return to Canada?
  3. Have you met with anyone who has travelled outside of Canada, in the last 14 days, who tested positive when returning to Canada?
  4. Are you currently subject to self-isolation regulations imposed by a Health Unit or otherwise?

If you answer Yes to any of the questions please Stay Home, Stay Safe, and get well soon. This same questionnaire must be read and signed on arrival on the day of the event. Entry to the property will be denied to those failing the screening, and any others travelling in the same vehicle.
